We’re pleased to bring the news that Coffee Shop Pedals has just unveiled their latest creation: the Portafilter Dual Overdrive, and we at FX Pedal Planet Online Store are excited to get it on our shelves soon.

Coffee Shop Pedals is a boutique pedal maker based in Canada. Their designs have a strong personality and real tone focus. Within the Coffee Shop Pedals range you’ll find, for example, the Affogato Fuzz, the London Fog Tape Delay, and the Donut Hole Overdrive. These pedals have allowed players to access unique textures without going mainstream, which is part of the appeal of the brand.

Now the Portafilter arrives. It’s a fully analogue, dual channel overdrive pedal with modern control options. On each side it offers selectable overdrive circuits in the style of a Tube Screamer, a Bluesbreaker and a Klon, letting you mix, match or stack those voices for wide tonal variety. Each drive side comes with its own three band EQ (bass, treble and a selectable mid mode: flat, scoop or boost) plus user selectable clipping (soft vs hard), giving you detailed tone shaping. You can run the two overdrive sides as independent voices, set them up differently for contrast, or stack them for complex layered tones, all from one pedal. What’s more, the Portafilter stores six presets internally and enables up to 20 via MIDI control. Every parameter (knobs, toggles, switches) is MIDI controllable, so you can integrate it into a pedalboard with automation. Bright LED push buttons give visual feedback of what overdrive type, EQ mid mode and clipping option is active, making it easier to see your configuration at a glance. For players who want both classic drive tones and more experimental possibilities, this pedal provides a lot of flexibility without diluting tone quality.
