FX Pedal Planet Online Store is excited to announce a new launch from our supplier, Summer School Electronics: the School Lunch Multi Effect. As the UK’s exclusive stockist, we are delighted to bring this compact but powerful all in one pedal to British guitarists and pedalboard builders.
Summer School Electronics is a boutique pedal company founded by Mark Turley in 2021, based in Syracuse, New York. Mark brings decades of experience as a musician and educator to each pedal design. Their releases are made in small runs, with each unit hand built in Syracuse. Over these years, Summer School Electronics has earned a reputation for combining practical design, tone, and fun aesthetics across a growing line of fuzzes, delays, boosts and overdrives.
As FX Pedal Planet Online Store’s exclusive UK partner for Summer School Electronics, we’ll be the first in the UK to offer the new School Lunch to our customers.
The School Lunch Multi-Effect is Summer School’s first multi effect pedal. Designed to pack four essential effects into one compact enclosure, it combines fuzz, distortion, delay and boost in a format that’s well suited for tight pedalboard setups or carry light rigs.
Guitarists can expect a single unit that delivers many of Summer School Electronics signature voices in a streamlined form. Because it includes a fuzz, a high gain distortion circuit, a delay, and a clean boost, the School Lunch can cover rhythm, lead, ambient, and dirt tones all in one box. It’s ideal for those who want flexibility without needing a large pedalboard.
Here’s a closer look at what the School Lunch offers, and why it’s already attracting attention:
The Fuzz section is built around a 2 transistor design using BC108 transistors. It features volume, fuzz, and bias controls. For optimal tone, Summer School Electronics recommends placing the School Lunch first in your signal chain (or at least before any buffered pedals).
The Distortion block uses the “Trash Panda” circuit, their high gain distortion design. It includes volume, drive and tone controls. It’s often described as more aggressive than fuzz, and a kind of “less muff” alternative.
The Delay is a simplified version of their Snow Day Delay. It provides mix, delay (time), and repeat (sustain) controls to let you dial in the repeats’ volume, delay length and how long they continue.
The Boost is a one knob transistor boost based on Summer School Electronics Extra Credit Boost design. It’s straightforward and intended for either volume increase for solos or as an added gain stage.
Because it runs off a single 9 V negative centre supply and comes in a compact footprint, the School Lunch is particularly suited for flying to gigs or reducing load for rehearsals, without sacrificing tone. Reviewers and early users highlight its practicality: the ability to carry fewer pedals, yet still access core sounds across multiple genres; the ease of control with dedicated knobs per function; and its cheerful “lunchbox” style design.
Congratulations go to Mark Turley and the team at Summer School Electronics on reaching this next milestone with the release of the School Lunch. It’s always exciting when a boutique maker expands into new territory, especially when it stays true to focus and tone.
FX Pedal Planet is preparing to stock the School Lunch, and we are currently awaiting our first shipment. Once available, you’ll be able to order directly from our website at or via our Reverb.com store. Do bear in mind that Reverb carries selling fees, so our UK website pricing will typically be around 10% lower than on Reverb.
In the meantime, if you’re keen to follow demos, tone clips or behind-the-scenes info, we encourage you to subscribe to Summer School Electronics’ social media channels. You’ll get early alerts on new batches, firmware tweaks, and interesting uses from players around the world.
